If you are interested in starting a fun and exciting virtual career at Pacific Airways, we recommend
you read the information below.
What do I need to join?
-
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000, 2002, or 2004 is a must. If you don't have flight simulator, you can purchase it
at any leading computer store such as Best Buy, Circuit City, or online at
Buy.com.
-
You should be able to install aircraft in flight simulator. If you need help installing
aircraft, seek assistance in the forum.
What should I be able to do?
- You should
be able to fly (takeoff, navigate, and land) in flight simulator. If you are
not able to, we recommend that you read the tutorials which are located within the
flight simulator program or read the navigation, landing, and takeoff pages
in your flight simulator manual.
- You should familiarize yourself with Pacific Airways operations. Click
here to view the operations manual.
- Be able to fly at least one flight per month.
- Although its' use is not required, VATSIM is highly encouraged and used at Pacific Airways.
If you are not familiar with VATSIM, please visit VATSIM.net.
- Download our aircraft here. Most of our aircraft are
downloadable as ZIP files which contain an installation program that will
automatically install the aircraft onto your computer.
- Choose your OWN FLIGHTS to fly, we do not assign you flights. You can find
a list of flights to choose from on your hub page under the link "FLIGHTS".
Choose flights based on the following guidelines:
|
Pilot Hours
|
Aircraft (flights) qualified for:
|
|
< 20
|
Category 1 or 2 aircraft
|
|
20-39
|
Cat 1 2 or 3 aircraft
|
|
40 or more
|
All Aircraft (any flight may be chosen)
|
- File flight reports for the flights you complete in a timely manner! (You must file
AT LEAST ONE flight report each month to stay active as a pilot for us, however, you are
more than welcome to fly more flights if you choose to do so). The flight report
form is available on your hub's main webpage under the link "PIREP".
- Most importantly, you should have fun!
If you've made it this far, you may apply to become a Pacific Airways pilot. After filling out the
Pilot Application, you will
be e-mailed a unique ID allowing you to take the exam, so please ensure you enter a valid
e-mail address. You must receive at least a 70% on the exam in order to have your pilot
application accepted.
