Meet & greet set for june 2020 at Flight Sim Expo
Posted by Dave Cook on Thursday, October 3, 2019

Hello Pacific Airways pilots.

The Pacific Airways Executive Staff would like to invite all Pacific Airways pilots to a meet and greet at next year’s Flight Sim Expo which will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada next June 12-14. We wanted to give everyone as much advanced notice as we could so they would have time to plan and save for the event. You can find information about the Flight Sim Expo at:

https://www.flightsimexpo.com/

On the above web site, you can find information about discount airfare for those attending the event.

Also available to pilots will be an opportunity to fly a real B737-800 full motion simulator at Airline Captain for a Day. I have talked with them about the possibility of several of our pilots sharing some time in the simulator and they said we should be able to work something out. I will talk with them more as the time gets closer to the event. You can find the information for the simulator at:

https://airlinecaptainforaday.com/

An anonymous donor has committed to paying for 1 hour of time in the simulator if other pilots wishing to participate would be willing to split the cost of another hour between them for a total of 2 hours for our pilots.

I would suggest that you consider making it a family vacation event as there are lots of things to do in the Las Vegas area other than gambling and the strip:

Lake Mead National Recreation Area and the Hoover Dam where you can take a tour of the interworking of the dam and the history of its construction.

The Mob Museum in downtown at the old post office building where you can learn about the mob’s influence on the history of Las Vegas.

The Atomic Museum where you can learn the history of the development of the first atomic bomb and nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site that occurred back in the 50’s and 60’s.

Red Rock National Recreation Area where they have a very nice visitor center, beautiful scenery and hiking trails.

I hope to see as many of you as possible next summer here in Las Vegas. If you have any questions about the event, please feel free to contact me.
